Colin is a solicitor and partner with Irwin Mitchell. He is head of their personal injury department at their London office and he has been practising personal injury litigation for over 35 years.

Colin is a past president of APIL.

He is on the editorial board of the journal of personal injury law, a patron of roadpeace and vice president of the College of Occupational Therapists. 

He is a regular lecturer on issues concerning personal injury cases including damages, aspects of health and safety at work, and, has lectured extensively on rehabilitation.


Colin is a member of the personal injury panel and a senior fellow of APIL. He was also made an honorary research fellow at the School of Law at the University of Lancaster in 2007 for his 'outstanding contribution to personal injury lawyering and the pursuit of justice'.
